How to Release the Energy Blockage Knots
The Buddha
didn't talk much about Energy Blockages. Mainly, he said just to come and sit
with him, Listen to him, Imbibe the Buddhafield of his presence. Nice things
would happen. People became enlightened in his Aura. 10,000 monks became
enlightened in the Purple Grove. Buddha was a Master. He taught Meditation.
Yet, one day
a guy came and asked him about Energy Blockages and asked him how to get rid of
them. And the Buddha answered by asking Sariputra to bring him a strip of cloth
and the Buddha formed in into a knot. He asked the guy how to unpick the knot,
to make the cloth straight and pure again, and the guy said, "Well he would have
to study the knot in order to do this", and the Buddha said yes, " Indeed this
is the way of removing energy blockages. Like knots you have to study them in
order to know how to release them".
Yet
Alexander the Great had the same problem. That of the Gordian Knot.
I
heard of this problem when I was a child and even then I had this inner sense of
what is important. It is called Intuition. And it is felt as an energy which
makes some things more energetic, more important than others. Really useful so
that we do not waste our time. We know which books to read. Which movies to
watch. Which music to listen to. We ignore that which is not connected to God,
which is less, which is not worth our time.
Well, you
see, Alexander was attacking this city of Gordia. And he was going to take it
but his Generals said, as Generals do, that to take this town would involve the
deaths of 10,000 of his soldiers, six months of time, and much work and supplies
- Materiel I think they call it now - for this city was well defended and
sturdy.
And the
leaders of the town knew this too. and they knew that if they could do the deal
all would be well. So they went to Alexander and said that they could surrender
if he would promise to not kill and rape all the inhabitants as is normal after
any seige, - they do it to make people surrender in advance! - and this would
save him the time and the soldiers and the materiel.
As well as
that they were having political problems with the Priests who knew that the
coming of Alexander to the city meant the death of their religion and the
institution of the State religion so they added the condition that he also had
to unpick the Gordian knot before the city would be released unto him. But
really, they knew they could do the deal to be in charge of the State Religion
by giving Alexander the methodology of solving the Gordian Knot in advance.
The Gordian
knot was a puzzle given to incipient priests before they could become leader
priests within the temple, as a final test. So this Gordian Knot was a religious
examination. Religious!!
Just like
what Buddha was talking about above. The examination was about the unpicking of
Energy Blockages!!
And
Alexander had to solve it. He would lose the loot, but he would gain time and
energy to conquer more land.
So he
accepted the test and gave his promises and on the appointed day went into the
Temple to take the examination.
They showed
him this enormous knot, made from meters of rope which they expected him to
study for days before finally succeeding - or failing - to unravel the
situation.
But
Alexander was made of sterner stuff. He had a technique to solve the Blockage
Problem which was much in advance of that which the Buddha released in the
problem above.
He took
out his Vorpal Sword and with one amazing swipe..
He Cut the Gordian knot in Two!!!

According to traditional Chinese Five-Element theories,
emotions are processed through energy pathways, the meridians.
The Emotion Anger is created by Energy Blockages on the Liver meridian,
an excess of joy or manicism is created by Energy Blockages on the Heart
meridian, pensiveness is created by Energy Blockages on the Spleen meridian, grief
is created by Energy Blockages on the Lung meridian,
and fear
is created by Energy Blockages on the Kidney meridian.
Acupuncture, originated by the meditational Taoist masters
who saw the meridians and their associated points during their meditations 4000
years ago and then created acupuncture, is still the first that suggests a
connection between emotions and physical body.
Apparently there are more emotions and more complicated
energy pathways than the five listed above. If for some reason there are
blockages in the meridian, the specific emotion is going to be created as well.
This may result in a delayed emotional process, driven
emotions or a specific emotion holding. A long-term emotional blockage may also
be related physical conditions such as slowed detoxification, blocked metabolism
and emotional disorders as a prelude to more serious infirmities.
Traditional Chinese medicine deals with emotional blockages through acupuncture
to remove the blockages - and only the smallest blockages and Chinese herbs to
remove the toxins caused by the Energy Blockage.
The most common meridian causing emotional problems is the
Liver and the Heart meridians. The Liver blockage often causes anger issue while
the Heart meridian is always associated with sleep problems. There are quite a
few herbal formulas dealing with the Liver energy stagnation and the Heart
energy deficiency. The blockages in other meridians also cause other emotional
and physical conditions. Specific pattern differentiations are needed
accordingly.
Most recent development of emotional therapies like EFT and
TFT using Chinese energy system, based on Touch for Health, and having all
the problems associated with Touch for Health and Applied Kinesiology, started
in the 1980s.
Dr. Roger Callahan found a meridian tapping technique to
eliminate negative emotions such as anxieties, phobias, and painful memories. He
believes that negative emotions disrupt normal energy flow in the meridians. By
tapping specific acupuncture points that associate with those meridians he is
able to strengthen the energy and help the meridian to get ride of those
negative emotions. He called his technique Thought Field Therapy (TFT).
In the 1990s, based on the original TFT, Dr. Gary Craig
developed his own accessible approach to energy psychology, which is the
Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT). Both therapies and other variations of this
technique can be available to treat emotional issues and physical conditions
caused by emotional blockages. Patients can learn the technique and perform the
treatment at home.
Since the electrodermal screening technique was developed, specific emotional
blockages and associated meridians can be easily identified.
With Immune System Reprogramming (a special tapping technique
like EFT and TFT) the blocked emotions can be released and the meridian is
balanced again. The Immune System Reprogramming is a type of informational
therapy, which signals the body to heal. It is similar to TFT or EFT, when you
tap your meridians with an emotion vial (homeopathic preparation) in hand, the
body is signaled to open the emotional blockage and balance the associated
meridian. With this technique we are able to identify the hidden emotional
factors that cause physical conditions and solve the problems even if the
patients are not aware of the connections between their emotions and their
physical conditions.
In 1940s a German doctor, Edward Bach, developed a unique emotional therapy,
called flower essences. He found that the smells of the flowers trigger
emotional reactions. He believes that many of the diseases are caused by the
conflicts between our divine goals and our personalities. This conflict causes
mental and emotional blockages that may lead to physical conditions. He
discovered original 38 flower essences that help to balance the psychological
state and keep the soul once again a whole and revitalized. Flower essences can
be used in special combinations addressing specific psychological status for
each patient. More advanced homeopathic preparations of flower essences are also
available for deeper emotional issues.
Before all these techniques,
Touch for Health or Applied Kinesiology first showed how
touching the Meridians could release Energy Blockages and stuck emotions -
Emotional Blockages. I remember my teacher showing me how to remove the negative
Emotions of his wife. When I said that a Sub- Personality Blockage was the cause
of the emotion and was not amenable to being removed simply by touching he
disagreed, even though his wife supported my point of view. He touched the point
and the blockage went, just like he always did.
After that the Energy Blockage always returned and he had to
continue moving it from one part of the body to another, but he never succeeded
in completely removing the blockage.
His wife died five years later from Cancer.
All these attempts to remove simple Energy Blockages signal the fact that

myths concerning various horns or stones of plenty like the Occultem Lapidem
-the Hidden Stone or the Philosophers Stone of Alchemical VITRIOL we talk about

KUMBA MELA IN HARIDWAR
I was in Haridwar for the Kumb in 1998. Every twelve years is
a Kumba Mela and the next is in Haridwar in early 2010.
I got there for one of the auspicious days when the Nagas take a dip in the
River Ganges - just where it comes into the plains at Haridwar descending from
glaciers in the high Himalayas, sorry
forget the date, perhaps Mid March, as I got to Badrinath for the temple opening
on May 1.
Haridwar is a very good location for viewing events as there is a hill above Har
Ki Pari ghat, where the TV cameras set up and you can view the crowds in safety,
otherwise the streets were thronged day and night
Haridwar will be very crowded at the time of Kumbh, over the period more than 25
million people will go. The last Maha Kumb Mela (every 144 years) had 60
Millions - the largest gathering of people ever on this earth.
But that's what makes it a good time to visit. It's only when
you see Kumbh with your own eyes, you can believe 'Faith can move mountains'.
How the sea of humanity is managed is a miracle.......
April will have two main snans (baths) first on 14th April on Baisakhi i.e.
Summer Solstice and second on 28th April. 14th April will attract a huge
crowd.......
It'll be difficult to get accommodation at that time unless you book in advance.
So book pretty well in advance.
And many bath are at early hours when Naked Sadhus (Nagas - the warrior caste)
take the holy dip.....so if you want to see Kumbha, stay at Haridwar...

Minar:
The Qutb Minar,
the tallest tower in India, was built to commemorate the
victory by Qutab-ud-din over the last Hindu kingdom in

the Koran, tapers from a 50ft (15m) diameter at the base
to just 8ft (2.5m) at the top. It comprises five
distinct stories each encircled with a balcony. At the
foot of the minhar, stands Quwwat-ul-Islam, India’s
oldest mosque. This mosque is built from the remains of
27 Hindu and Jain temples that were destroyed by the new
Muslim rulers of India.

Jumma Masjid
Located a few hundred yards west of the Red Fort, the

25,000 worshipers at a time. Wide red sandstone steps
lead to entrances on the East, North, and South sides of
the mosque.
Humayun’s Tomb:
This is one
of the most beautiful examples of Mogul architecture in
Delhi. The tomb, set in a Persian garden, is an
octagonal structure capped by a double dome that soars
125ft (38m) into the sky. In the grounds are some other
monuments, including the Tomb of Isa Khan
Rashtrapati Bhavan:
This is the residence of the president of India. The
building unmistakably carries a British influence in its
structuring.
Parliament Building:
Like the Rashtrapati Bhavan this building is a symbol of
British imperial power.
Other Mosques: Delhi has several other mosques
well known for their elegance. These include Begumpuri
Masjid, Gumbad and Masjid, Fatehpuri Sikri Masjid.
Temples:
Lotus Temple
(SEE ABOVE), Kalka Devi Temple, Hanuman Temple, Lakshmi
Narayan Temple are some of the well known worship
shrines in Delhi. These temples are reputed for their
architecture splendor.
Other forts: Purana Qila, Tughlaqabad Fort,
Nai-ka-Kot Ruins are places worth a visit.
Other Colonial Structures: Other colonial
structures which remind of the British rule are India
Gate, Supreme Court, Northern Ridge, St James Church,
George V Memorial etc.
Museums: Dolls Museum, Craft Museum, National
Rail Museum are some of the interesting museums in the
capital.
Other Attractions: Jantar Mantar, Alai Darwaza
and Alai Minar.

Here is the experience of Kundalini Energy which our Energy Enhancement
student, Danisa de Paul, got after a month of Meditation.
We taught the Energy Enhancement techniques to her quickly in Barcelona
and afterwards she joined the Energy Enhancement Online or Home
Study course which is available cheaply on the Energy Enhancement Website.
“I would like to transmit adequately in words the experience I got
with Satchy + Devi, but I know these words do not exist.
There are sensations and feelings there are very difficult to
explain, you can only have the experience.
A few days ago I was practicing Energy Enhancement meditation techniques.
I have learnt Energy Enhancement Stages One to Five of Level one
only, which you can learn on the Energy Enhancement Online Course,
however, suddenly my body started to move in circular movements anticlockwise and clockwise.
I left my body which was moving. Nothing ever happened to me like
that before, but after some time I was afraid, very afraid. An internal
voice talked to me, there is no reason to be afraid.
I did not know what happened to me. I got the feeling I was spinning
or may be about to explode. It was something very strong which after, stopped.
Now my body is doing this movement all the time in meditation but
first anticlockwise and after clockwise.
Today, also after this movement it started to move in a direct line
from right to left and after front and back.
Thank God I got two Masters like them which destiny put in my Path.
When I went to see them in L’Escala, on the Costa Brava above Barcelona,
the city in which I live, I knew that it would be a unique experience
and very special, but in reality I found with something more than that.
I found the direction of my life. The utility of my existence on
this planet, and I found the answer to many questions that many
Human beings ask to themselves daily.
They gave me a good motive to be alive and to help others.
They taught me how to enjoy every second, every detail, of life
that may be in another moment I would think meaningless.
I would like to tell to everybody how much can they enjoy if they
decided to spend some time with them.
The best way to understand the experience is by going. To risk change,
to risk opening another door, to walk through for a different path you could never imagine.
To synthesise what I said, I found happiness thanks to them and
in reality they show you what you need to do, but we need to put
our little bit of effort to work on ourselves. All their teaching is a process over time.
Really there is no money in this world can pay for all that...
Everything depends on us. Do you want to continue attachment to
your fears and pains or do you want to risk being happy…?”

Dear All,
Despite Gengis Khan and his Golden Horde, the fall of the Roman
Empire and the Two Towers, and all the wars every year for 5000
years, the Masters of Wisdom still point to a necessary integration
of the Human Being on his passage to Enlightenment.
How can we make the world happy, if we ourselves are not happy?
This is reflected in the wider world as a necessary integration
of all the countries of the world. First as federations like NAFTA
and the EEC but later under one President and one council giving
equal rights, human rights and benefits to all people on the planet under the Law.
This is the program for the next one or two hundred years or more.....
But although we can consciously help the success of this program
towards a more enlightened leadership, we can help more if we first
help ourselves with more training.
Training beyond the school and the PHD is that which is higher than
the intellect. To make you more determined, intuitive and lucky.
More Spiritual, calm, energised and happy, always.
Here in Puttarparthy in Karnataka a Southern State in South India
we have been staying at the Ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba for a
few Days on tour with Energy Enhancement. Enlightened beings always
try to act in perfect ways. A perfect act is where no one is harmed
and at least one person benefits.
Therefore they radiate the energy of evolution and change so that
in their presence, slowly, we rise higher. If we can meditate a
little before we arrive at their ashram, The Buddhafield,
then the process of change can go on apace, more faster!!
Seeing the spiritual auras of the Masters emanate from them as
they go about their daily work we can understand the change they
produce in their years of service to humanity. Sai Baba is 85 this
year and has been working constantly since he became enlightened at the age of 14.
In these 70 years he has built a vast organisation with millions
of devotees all over the world which work was vastly expanded since
he was given a couple of hundred millions of dollars by the owner
of the Hard Rock Cafe Franchise when he sold his franchise a few years ago.
Apparently the owner of the Hard Rock Café Company had been going to see
Sri Sathya Sai baba at his Ashram for 15 years and never got an interview.
And one day he got the Interview!! And Sai Baba told him that someone would offer
Him hundreds of Millions of dollars for his business, but he was not to take the offer.
He was told that the next week he would be offered 200 Million Dollars more
and that he was to take that offer.
He gave the difference, 200 Million Dollars, to Sri Sathya Sai Baba!!
And it all starts through your practise of meditation. The method
of choice of all aspirants for the last 5000 years. With meditation
we can first make ourselves happy, and then we can move the world!!

BiographyRamana
Maharshi died in 1949. For more information about this enlightened master whose energy
still pervades the ashram we visit please read "Ramana Maharshi and the path of Self Knowledge"
by Arthur Osborne. He promoted the use of Vichara or Self Enquiry Meditation to
Achieve Enlightenment which you will practise in Initiation 4 of Energy
Enhancement.
In the summer of 1896, Ramana went into an altered state of consciousness which
had a profound effect on him. He experienced what he understood to be his own
death, and later returned to life. Satchidanand had the
same experience when he was 14 and it was after this he started to practise yoga
as a preparation for Meditation, meeting his spiritual masters and Enlightenment
Tiruvannamalai is a centre of power similar to Machu
Pichu in Peru. Ramana Maharshi said they were on opposite poles of the planet and the
Sacred Mountain of Arunachala - which we can walk up - near Tiruvannamalai is the Focus. We will visit the Great
Temple of Tiruvannamalai, one of the largest temples in Southern India with Gopurams which
are high gateway towers whose serried rows of white statues are tiered up to the sky and
see a part of India seemingly unchanged for many years.

Climb, walk up, Arunachala, the Energy Power Centre
at the opposite pole of Machu Pichu. We will visit the caves around the Sacred Mountain

places of interest. Food is served in the Ashram sitting on the floor and upon a leaf
plate eaten by the cows afterwards so that there is less work and nothing is wasted. The
food is pure south Indian and to our taste, very delicious!

We are just leaving the Energetic Powerpoint, the town of Tiruvannamalai,
nestling into the feet of the Sacred Shiva Mountain of Arunachala,
on our way to Kovalam Beach in Kerala, South India.
Tiruvannamalai also contains an enormous Fire Shiva Temple, a match
for any European Cathedral, with serried ranks of white statues
of the Hindu expressions of God reaching up to the sky in White
Gopurams. Past the blessing elephant who touches you on the head
with his trunk in return for a few paise. Past the Olympic size
swimming pool which is used to purify all entrants as you immerse
yourself in its waters through into the central Holy of Holies where
the priests give you bareshouldered blessings and the Light of Arati. again to bless and purify.
Do not be befooled by the chicanery all around you. That is their
problem. Remember that Enlightenment is called for by You and then
descends as Grace and is the product of Your heart whose energy
is called Bhavanaa,.... willpower, meditation, directed energy of
kundalini, change, simplicity, purity, Love....
Just be aware of the powerpoint Arunachala and the power of the
awakened Saints who came to realisation living alone in the caves
on its slopes. How they have raised the quanta of energy in that
are so that anyone who comes there goes away changed. A Quantum leap of Energy when you come.
It is also the Home of Ramanashramam where we have been staying,
eating and meditating. His room is now a meditation room, charged
with light and his presence. The place where the great saint Bhagavan
Ramana Maharshi lived and worked for 66 years after his Enlightenment
at the age of 16. When he died in 1950 they asked him not to leave
them. He said "Where can I go ?"
Each Great Saint brings with them a new method or teaching on Enlightenment
and that of Ramana Maharshi is so simple. And so effective. That
everyone wishing to Progress on the Path of Enlightenment should be aware of it.
Our meeting with Shantananda Puri back in Vaishishta Gufa in the
Himalayas remains with us as we remember that commentary of his
on the Atma Pooja Upanishad, an inspired meeting between Enlightened
Aashtavarka and the Enlightened King Janaka, their advice to all
seekers and its relevance to Ramanas message.
Just find out who you really are, and that will cleanse all negativity from you.
I remember talking to one seeker back in Parana in South America.
She said that we all could not be like me and Devi but I replied,
"Oh Daughter, if you knew who you really were, you would not say that!"
And such was the Bhavana of that saying, that at the back of the
room a yoga teacher raised her arms as the Kundalini coursed through
her, shaking and crying and utterly blessed!!
I remember the walk on the full moon night just a few days ago when
we took the inner path of Parikrama around the sacred slopes of
Arunacahala. When as the sun set at six pm we took ourselves away.
Away from the 100,000 people who regularly clockwise walk the 14km
around the Sacred Mountain on each full moon night.
In the heat of the night we took the inner path, alone on rubble
strewn roads, past ancient Temples, over rocks, through forests,
past the irrigation lakes with their sacred steps down into the
waters where in bathing, in the light of the moon, alone with the
Sacred Mountain, we raised our energies that night.
So, on to the beach and the purity of Kerala and its forests, tiger
and elephant reserves, its backwater tours and Ayurvedic Massages and the Magic that is India.
And the Sacred White Purity of Meditation that is the Taj Mahal.

Recently we met Michael, a German Sannyasin, a monk, who is named
the Old Man of Gokula Beach where he lives in a hut on the beach
with nothing. A Shiva site and temple in Karnataka where the beach
is in the shape of an OM sign!! He was telling me of his Enlightenment
back in 1983 and by bringing together the energy of the Alta Major
Center and Ajna Center he transmitted the experience of that Enlightenment
to me whilst sitting together in the Lonely Planet Vegetarian Restaurant.
As our Energy Grew together we cried as tears rained down our cheeks as the Heart Opened.
Although he radiates this energy to all who meet him he was very
happy to be with me for a while as “So few people understand”.
We sat the evening radiating the Light of the Soul together. Such a happy meeting!!
So, here we are on the Beach at Kovalam, Kerala, South India. Surrounded
by Coconut Palm Trees which fringe the beach we are staying at the
Hilton Beach Resort with Television, Internet, Air Conditioning
and Swimming Pool as well as being 30 yards from the beach and the
lighthouse which beams light whirling above our heads every night.
The air is warm and humid, around 31 Centigrade which enables us
to walk around without the coats and coverings so normal in wintery
Europe or USA. The locals just walk around in lunghis which are
cloths wrapped around their hips and legs like skirts and, like
going to a Hindu Temple, bare chested, with nothing to hide. All
the ladies traditionally wear Saris or sometimes Kurtas which are exotic and beautiful.
This Earth is so Beautiful........

- "I was meeting a nice girl of 28 this morning here at our center in Rosario.
She is a
Psychologist but has fallen out of love with Psychology because although it
explains things intellectually it gives no TECHNIQUES apart from talking to
change anything
internally, particularly in herself. You can see how effective Psychology
is by looking at Woody Allen.
I connected with her base chakra and
her inner child showed me all her chakras and blockages one by one. A very
interesting experience. First the Base chakra, one fear and security blockage
which I removed very quickly. Then the second, a pain filled relationship
blockage which I also removed. Then all the chakras solar plexus, heart etc,
feeling the general dirtyness of the psychic body usually cleaned with
The
Grounding of Negative Energies but no major blockages. Then the head,
two blockages, one a person who had just died, very deep and negative. I removed
the first blockage but the other one was more difficult and stayed with me,
absorbed by my psychic body, for a day before I sent it on.
She felt the movement
of energy blockages in the head and in the body as my mind and energy was
working on her and told me that she normally got a lot of headaches. She was
interested in my exposition of Energy Enhancement as all the while I was working
on these blockages I was also talking to her. Such openings show an educated
psychic body, one with talent. Not everyone who comes to the Guru has similar
experiences. Some also get more. She and I felt that with training she also
might be able to help her clients in a similar way. So, she is coming back

on the amazing Energy Enhancement Course

my experiences of the Energy Enhancement course with other like-minded people.

Our

MEDITATING AFTER A FEW DAYS ON THE COURSE -
"To expand, I
was sitting in meditation the other night and was happily destroying
blockages in me using the Seven
Step Process of Energy Enhancement taught by Satchi and Devi when
I was staggered by something new. I watched as negative energy transmuted
into white light and travelled down to the centre of the earth then returned
up my spinal column and carried on into outer space to the centre of the
universe and then returned back to me through the crown chakra and down the
front of my body through the throat centre then the heart centre and the
solar plexus, on to the genitals and in to the perineum, through to the
centre of the earth and returned back up my spine and so began this new
orbit of energy.
The effect was
something else; it shot through me at incredible speed. This carried on and
got denser and more powerful as I discharged more of the negative energy
within me. This energy took the form of bands of light that followed each
other in waves travelling at equal distance apart and as I discharged and
transmuted more negative energy the bands got closer together and I found
that I could control the speed at which they travelled through the body.
Satchi calls this orbit the Supra Galactic Orbit
which travels up the ANTAHKARANA
into the centre of the universe and down through the centre of the earth
passing through the front of the body on the downward sweep and returning up

- Are Gurus Necessary?
In
most cases, the Guru or genuinely enlightened master is the only person capable
of creating a field of highly charged spiritual energy which can feed the
spiritual bodies of the students. As this changes the students, so they will
suffer the reactions of the energy blockages of the ego which do not want to be
integrated with the soul. These Ego Energy Blockages, the cause of MPD, will try to cast the student out of
the Buddhafield.

Also I noticed as soon as Satchidanand emailed me, I got a down-pouring of light
from above the crown which kept charging me up the rest of the day – and my
cravings died out! Then I realized the cravings were ego-blockages and that I
did not want them.

powerful. I don't know why it isn't more well known or taught?

It's really bringing up little
blockages which are complaining while being pushed down into the earth's core to
get purified. The hot fire energy has gotten much stronger in my body while
doing the practice, mostly the base of the spine heats up, but also the middle
of the spine. There are lots of little blockages being noticed. But I'm pushing
them out.
I think this is my new favorite meditation practice! It's far more powerful than
the normal orbit practice.
Have practiced it some more – my body
gets very hot during the practice – just like the video says.

My mother came into the
room and told me she 'couldn't be near me' because I was giving off too much
heat – like a radiator! After this I noticed that by thinking about certain
areas of my body I could send the intense heat to that area!
So now this meditation is definitely the
most powerful one I have got. Very impressive. I do an in breath/out breath
orbit and then hold for a moment at the earth-core. Then I bring up the energy
again.
Aha! I can see you've used a
lot of my emails in the text, I don't know if I should feel embarrassed or
flattered.
I've had another experience today, which
is light surrounding a part of my selfish ego, and my ego submitted. The light
has won for this issue. It is no longer possible to tolerate some of my selfish
behaviours.
Now I feel very peaceful.

Thanks! I want to update you.
I underwent a profound change in my energy last night after my main ego blockage
submitted.
However today I noticed with more light in my system, that there are more,
smaller ego blockages which are there and which talk to me. I look forward to
resolving them. I'll now paste what I wrote last night.
Now I write here what I experienced between my last comment and reading her
reply, written just below:
I had to lay down to do some meditation just now, and I felt like there were
‘two me’s, the first me was this little black smudge of an ego, the ‘I’, the
selfish ego, or the part which basically functions for it’s own agenda. This guy
basically pleasure-seeks and avoids pain/responsibility and is good at
justifying it’s reasons and making excuses.
The second ‘me’, was this overwhelmingly peaceful, white light. It was so
powerful it was literally drowning my little dark ego. So my ego had this light
just drowning it from all directions. Imagine a war scene where the dark side is
just a little blob of dark and there is hundreds or thousands of times as much
light surrounding it from all angles.
Then also during this process, I had to see through the ‘light’s eyes to take a
look at me…and I saw all these faults. I saw this creeping little dark ego who
was so unaware of everything, it just kept making excuses for it’s actions ‘but’
this, and ‘but’ that. It just kept wanting pleasurable things and to run away
from responsibility. I had to take a long good look at this guy, this type of
me.
So my little dark ego, the ‘I’, just …well, just gave up. He just said ‘Okay!!
Okay…I give up! I give up! Surrender!’ So then I started to feel like I was
going to cry. All this light just smothered me, my ego and gave it a lot of love
and peace. Then I felt this vortex of white light form in my heart – it felt
quite small, maybe an inch or so big.
Then I felt all this peaceful
energy throughout my whole body – it felt like cosmic/space/universe energy.
Something like a peaceful energy from space (as if I had a whole entire universe
inside my chest and body with the heart at the center). After that happened, I
was getting light flood my body and I just felt like crying and surrendering. I
suddenly felt this rush of what felt like crystalline white light flood into my
body and fill my arms and legs and whole body. So I had a new ‘layer’ of energy
body or something like this.
I think it’s a point of no-return now! I can only surrender now. What seems to
be filling my body is this type of energy which is peace and light, it only
seems to want what’s right for everyone. I hope it remains. I don’t know how
much of my ego I let go off…I wish all of it will go now.
I honestly don’t believe I will go back to being how I used to, because too much
of my consciousness or awareness feels grounded into ‘light’, so if I can keep
seeing from the light’s viewpoint, I can quickly pick out faults which I might
otherwise do.
Phew, what an intense evening. But I feel so peaceful! I seem quite satisfied to
just drown myself in this light.
I want to give an update on this today. I’m pleased to say that the energy of
soft love and peace which flooded my body last night, has remained with me
today. I feel like a completely different person. There has been a loss of
desire, an increase in peace.
I threw out some supplements and felt like that type of thing has now become
redundant.
Today I noticed that small ego blockages were in my aura. They are much weaker
than the one which submitted to the light last night, they are more deeply
buried.
I hope to continue to resolve and integrate these fragments of ego energy
blockages in future.

all together they arrived, mighty excited i might add and all is downloaded

I
m getting stuck straight in, its amazing, because the very first time i got
the sitting position correct. I could feel the energy flowing up my spine
and over my head incredible heat and a real tingling in my face and a
feeling of elation i cant describe and i did this while using sound for each
chakra, when i struck the heart chakra tone my chest just expanded and it
felt like it was being lifted up and the whole room seemed full of energy
and and and what a feeling, phew. It was heaven.
I was sitting still
for about an hour and it felt like only a few minutes i think i just

I think i now have all the little pieces of my jigsaw, its taken a long time

Sri Ramana Maharshi (Tamil: ரமண மஹரிஷி) (December 30, 1879 – April 14,
1950), born Venkataraman Iyer, was a Hindu spiritual figure ("jnani"). He
was born to a Tamil-speaking Brahmin family in Tiruchuzhi, Tamil Nadu. After
having attained liberation at the age of 16, he left home for Arunachala, a
mountain considered sacred by Hindus, at Tiruvannamalai, and lived there for
the rest of his life. Although born a Brahmin, he declared himself an "Atiasrami",
a Sastraic state of unattachment to anything in life and beyond all caste
restrictions. The ashram that grew around him, Sri Ramana Ashram, is
situated at the foothill of Arunchala, to the west to the pilgrimage town of
Tiruvannamalai.

Grace and Guru
I have not said that a Guru is not necessary. But a Guru need not always be
in human form. First a person thinks that he is an
inferior and that there is a superior, all-knowing, all powerful God who
controls his own and the world's destiny and worships
him or does Bhakti. When he reaches a certain stage and becomes fit for
enlightenment, the same God whom he was worshipping
comes as Guru and leads him on. That Guru comes only to tell him that ‘God
is within yourself. Dive within and realize.’ God,
Guru and the Self are the same.

Self - Realization
The state we call realization is simply being oneself, not knowing anything
or becoming anything. If one has realized, he is
that which alone is, and which alone has always been. He cannot describe
that state. He can only be That. Of course, we loosely
talk of Self-realization for want of a better term.
That which is, is peace. All that we need do is to keep quiet. Peace is our
real nature. We spoil it. What is required is that
we cease to spoil it.

Renunciation
Asked “How does a grihastha (householder) fare in the scheme of Moksha
(liberation)?” Bhagavan said, “Why do you think you are a
grihastha? If you go out as a sannyasi (ascetic), a similar thought that you
are a sannyasi will haunt you. Whether you continue
in the household or renounce it and go to the forest, your mind goes with
you. The ego is the source of all thought. It creates
the body and the world and makes you think you are a grihastha . If you
renounce the world it will only substitute the thought
sannyasi for grihastha and the environment of the forest for that of the
household. But the mental obstacles will still be
there. They even increase in the new surroundings. There is no help in
change of environment. The obstacle is the mind. It must
be got over whether at home or in the forest. If you can do it in the
forest, why not at home? Therefore, why change your
environment? Your efforts can be made even now - in whatever environment you
are now. The environment will never change
according to your desire.”

Question : What is Guru's grace? How does it lead to Self-realization?
Ramana Maharshi :
Guru is the Self. Sometimes in his life a man becomes dissatisfied and, not
content with what he has, he seeks
the satisfaction of his desires through prayer to God. His mind is gradually
purified until he longs to know God, more to obtain
his grace than to satisfy his worldly desires. Then, God's grace begins to
manifest. God takes the form of a Guru and appears to
the devotee, teaches him the truth and, moreover, purifies his mind by
association.
The devotee's mind gains strength and is then able to turn inward. By
meditation it is further purified and it remains still
without the least ripple. That calm expanse is the Self. The Guru is both
external and internal. From the exterior he gives a
push to the mind to turn it inwards. From the interior he pulls the mind
towards the Self and helps in the quietening of the
mind. That is Guru's grace. There is no difference between God, Guru and the
Self.
Question : In the Theosophical Society they meditate in order to seek
masters to guide them.
Ramana Maharshi :
The master is within; meditation is meant to remove the ignorant idea that
he is only outside. If he is a
stranger whom you await, he is bound to disappear also. What is the use of a
transient being like that ? But so long as you
think you are separate or that you are the body, an external master is also
necessary and he will appear to have a body. When
the wrong identification of oneself with the body ceases, the master will be
found to be none other than the Self.
Question : Will the Guru help us to know the Self through initiation?
Ramana Maharshi :
Does the Guru hold you by the hand and whisper in the ear? You may imagine
him to be what you are yourself.
Because you think you are a body, you think he also has a body and that he
will do something tangible to you. His work lies
within, in the spiritual realm.

WHO IS THE GURU?
The Guru, the benefactor of true jnana [direct knowledge], who truly shines
as the Self [one's true nature] that possesses
unlimited splendour, is the primal silence that puts to flight the perverse
arguments that arise through the persistent stain of
infatuation with the world.
Our Guru's form is the reality that sleeps without sleeping in the Heart. He
is the self-luminous effulgence that shines in the
Heart like a beautiful lamp that needs no kindling. To those who have
experienced merging in the Heart he is a luscious fruit
full of the sweet clarity of the supreme bliss that, without a trace of
aversion, causes an ever-increasing desire [for itself].
His grace indeed is the true wealth.
Only he who unifies the jiva [individual self], making it remain facing
directly towards the Self, bestowing in this way the
direct experience of supreme Self-knowledge, is extolled by the great ones
as Iswara swarupa [the real form of God] and Atma
swarupa [the true nature of the Self]. Accept him alone as the Guru, the
Supreme.
The demeaning good and evil karma [Energy Blockages of Students] originates
from activities prompted by the desire and aversion
that arise through vasanas. He alone is the true Guru who dispels their
suffering and bestows the bliss of liberation upon those
who, dragged along by the power of their karma, seek refuge in him.
The Guru who abides as swarupa, the radiant light that illumines even the
physical light that exists in this world, will reveal
the deceptively real to be unreal to those who suffer by taking the unreal
to be real.

THE GURU IS THE POWER OF THE SELF WITHIN
The Guru is the sat-bodham [being-consciousness] that shines abiding as all
in all.
As the inner and the outer, as 'I' and 'this', as this world and the next,
pervading all as the boundless radiance of
consciousness, the Guru is the unmoving support, the jewel-like lamp that
shines effortlessly in the Hearts of true devotees.
Following the destruction of the "I am the body" idea, whatever body it may
be, the radiance of being endures free of
limitation, without any bondage, shining as the pure expanse. Dwelling in
the hearts of all individuated jivas as attribute-free
jnana, as wholly the Self, and as non-distinct from them, this radiance of
being abides as the all-encompassing supreme power
[akila-para-sakti].
Regard only him who possesses the rare attribute of radiating that supreme
power [akila-para-sakti] as the Sadguru who has the
enormous power to merge, through his causeless sweet grace, any jiva that
comes to him with genuine love into the non-dual
paramatma-swarupa, whose nature is attribute-free consciousness.
It is the very nature of the Atma-swarupa consciousness to shine as 'I-I'.
This form of natural awareness that remains forever
as the soul of the soul in the Heart is the inner meaning of the statement
that God, the Self which itself becomes the Guru,
unceasingly and directly transmits jnana upadesa to the true disciples, the
mature jivas.
The manner in which the Guru sits majestically in state on the Heart-throne
of his devotees whom he has taken up, destroying
their egos, is lofty like a mountain, splendid and glorious. Those who have
experienced this do not talk about it. Those who
talk about it have not experienced it. The abundant utterances of devotees [jnanis],
which are sacred like the Vedas, bear
witness to this.

THE NECESSITY OF THE EXTERNAL GURU
An external Guru is needed because the desire-filled, infatuated mind rushes
out without listening with love to the truth
unceasingly proclaimed in the Heart by the Self, being-consciousness.
One may have acquired all the virtues and renounced all the vices; one may
have renounced totally all one's relationships and
have no attachment; one may have completely performed all the many penances
enjoined upon the virtuous by the scriptures; but
however great one may be by virtue of one's intellect and accomplishments,
will one attain the experience, the state of
kaivalyam [oneness] that is wholly bliss, until one obtains, as a result of
meritorious karma, the good fortune of seeing the
jnana-Guru?
For those who are suffering from samsara - to which they are yoked by the
twin karmas [good and bad] that arise through
ignorance, the powerful dense delusion - the devotion and longing they feel
for the grace of the Guru, who has taken
responsibility for them, is alone the medicine for dispelling their mental
anguish.
It is impossible to experience the marvellous dance of true jnana in the
Heart unless the antics of the unbridled monkey-mind
cease through the grace-power of the valiant one who wields the divinely
granted sword of true jnana, he who has already cut off
and brought down [his own] mind demon.
Those who have realised the truth are alone the possessors of faultless
virtues. Apart from these, everyone else is only base of
nature. Hence, he who longs for the fortune of liberation must redeem
himself only by resorting to those aforementioned
meritorious ones who shine as reality through the knowledge of reality that
is devoid of the world-delusion.

THE GRACE OF THE GURU
Peace of mind, shanti, which is desired by everyone, is not attained by
anyone, anywhere, through any means, except through the
grace of the Guru. Therefore, those who want peace should continuously
enquire and seek alone that grace in the Heart, with
their whole mind.
The blessed grace of God, who has the eightfold form, will be impossible to
secure except through the grace of the Guru. It will
not come through learning or through any other means, but it will
spontaneously arise through devotion.
Those of perfect and mature wisdom will declare: Reality, the consummation
of jnana that shines in the perfectly pure state of
mauna, the hard-to-attain vedantic experience, will, through the Guru's
grace, spontaneously flare up and shine as 'I-I' within
the Heart.
Unless we first obtain the divine grace of a Guru, a jivanmukta in whose
perspective the triputi-differences have ended and who
shines as the undivided and single essence, it will be impossible to obtain
the life of liberation and live illustriously under
the shade of God's twin feet, [a life] that is all bliss and the ultimate of
all benefits.

BEING A GOOD DISCIPLE
If you want to attain liberation and redeem yourself by cutting asunder with
the sword of jnana (
SAMYAMA
IS THE SWORD OF
DISCRIMINATION OF MANJUSRI - REMOVER OF ENERGY BLOCKAGES OF THE EGO)
the false ignorance that has strongly bound you in the form of a jiva, let
your mind spring up immediately with surging love and, without wasting a
moment of your life, meditate constantly upon the golden lotus-like feet of
the Lord who, in the form of the Guru, has taken you into his fold.
MANJUSRI AND HIS SWORD OF DIS CRIME INATION - SAMYAMA - REMOVER OF ENERGY
BLOCKAGES, CREATION OF VIVEKA
By taking the Sadguru as one's sole refuge, one should know, through his
grace, that the cause of the continuous and distressing
confusion that nurtures births is the fragmented mind which regards itself
as different from God, Atma-swarupa. One should also
learn from him the means for ending it [the fragmented mind] and, adopting
that means, one should steadfastly unite with the
Self, the ego-free swarupa, and abide in mauna. This alone bestows eminence.
This state of being the best among the noble disciples is this: a constancy
of mind whence gushes forth the feeling of supreme
devotion [parabhakti] that manifests when the 'I' is lost in the radiance of
the state of silence, the Supreme. Know and keep in
your mind that this is itself the state of being the Guru.
Meditating in the way that one ought to meditate on the sweet and ineffable
grace of the Supreme Guru, and remaining still
without getting caught in illusion, the unreal and deceptive panorama that
appears in front of us - this alone is bliss.

TRUE GURUS AND FALSE GURUS
The Guru who instructs the disciple, who has taken complete refuge in him,
by giving one more prescription for action, instead
of directing him towards jnana, and who leads him into activities, saying
"These should be done", is for the disciple
[equivalent to] the coming of cruel Yama and Brahma [the gods of death and
birth]. Only he who consummates disciples,
transforming them into those who have done all that needs to be done,
enabling them to attain the true benefit of this birth, is
the grace-bestowing, divine Guru.
Know that the Heart-directed conduct in which one steadfastly holds onto
jnana in the way one has been taught, and abiding there
firmly as being-consciousness, without letting the mind stray towards the
ignoble sense objects, is alone the true teaching [of
the Guru].

THE GURU'S LOOK
Since his glance transforms the rusty iron that is the jiva into the gold
that is the taint-free jnana-swarupa, the grace-
bestowing eyes of the Guru-Lord are the potent alchemical substance that
transforms by a mere glance. Therefore, search
thoroughly to eradicate your impurity, and worship him to attain his glance.
With his twin eyes the Guru will instantaneously kill without killing the
one who came into existence without actually existing
in such a way that "that which is not" vanishes as "that which is not",
leaving that which exists as the transcendental light
shining as "that which is".
The Guru abides as the silent benefactor and reveals the light that shines,
remaining as the one and only enduring residue. If
his eyes and the eyes of the disciple meet in total harmony, spoken words
are redundant.
Beyond the reach of both mind and speech is the glory of those who have the
good fortune, earned through past tapas, of becoming
the target of the grace-bestowing glance of the Guru, he who has ripened
into the para-swarupa through the excellence of the
matchless experience of jnana, the Self.
Those who, through rare, intense and surging devotion exist by trusting
solely in the Guru's piercing glance of grace will live
in this world like Indra [the king of the gods]. There will be no suffering
for them.
The jnana-Guru actually abides as both the Atma-swarupa and the Siva-swarupa
within the Hearts of devotees, although in their
externalised view he appears and moves around as if he is different [from
them]. True jnana will not dawn for anyone who has not
known experientially, through investigation in the Heart, the essence of the
upadesa "You are That" which [the Guru] silently
and unceasingly conveys to his devotees through the language of his gaze.
Like a deer caught in the jaws of a tiger, those who are trapped by the
Sadguru's jnana-bestowing glance of grace will never be
abandoned. Rather, they are destined to lose their individuality, their
restricted nature, and attain liberation.

WORSHIPPING THE FEET OF THE GURU
For those who possess the quality of habitually meditating upon the feet of
the Guru, the blazing flame of flawless true jnana,
their devotion, dispelling their suffering, will elicit the grace of that
Supreme One. Through that grace their minds will
become clear and they will attain true jnana.
For those who have the good fortune of living a life in which they take the
feet of the Guru, the Supreme, as the sole target of
their attention, a longing to merge with Sivam will flourish. That true
devotion will itself become the fire of jnana that will
scorch to destruction the desires for the false, the non-Self.
As worship of the feet of the Guru simultaneously destroys the twin vasanas
accumulated over endless aeons, and as it brings
forth in the Heart the dawn of jnana that is the cause for our being
unafraid of indescribable ignorance, that worship,
performed with devotion and reverence, alone is the befitting true mantra
for noble disciples in whom dispassion is strong.
One may, through body speech and mind, perform, without leaving any out, all
the possible varieties of worship to the jnana
Guru, he who is the walking Supreme Siva who has accepted with delight the
disciple. However, [for the disciple,] losing the
idea that he exists as a distinct entity, separate from that Guru who shines
as the soul of his soul, completely dissolving,
like ice in water, his individuality in his [the Guru's] supreme swarupa,
and becoming one with him as love alone - this is the
perfect and complete worship that he should perform.
The mind that has settled in the radiance of the feet of the Guru, who is
limitless jnana, effulgent like the sun, does not
merge in the triple differences that are an imaginary appearance in swarupa,
consciousness.

GURU PUJA
Bear in mind that the true puja to the jnana Guru is only the Self-abidance
in which the vasana-free mauna surges once the
disciple-consciousness that proclaimed itself as 'I' is destroyed by the
raging fire of the consciousness of the jnana Guru, he
who is God Himself.
The true puja performed to the Guru by worthy disciples is the complete
destruction of the false "disciple-consciousness"
brought about by firm abidance in the state of "Guru-consciousness", the
experience of perfection that arises through the
Heartward enquiry, "Who is the 'I' who has been accepted as a disciple?"
Know clearly that the excellent conduct wherein the jiva-mind does not rise
in the all-pervading supreme firmament, the sun of
true jnana that shines as the real nature of the Guru, constitutes the only
puja worthy of being performed to the Guru-Lord.
When the ice of the ego-consciousness that is limited to the form of the
body melts into the ocean of Guru-consciousness, the
expanse of the Self that exists and shines as the one savour of love, know
that this is Guru-puja.
The polluting ego-view causes the fullness of the Guru, which knows no lack,
to be limited. Only the behaviour in which this
does not appear is the shining puja to the Guru who stands out like a
mountain in a plain.
After surrendering one's body and possessions to the jnana-Guru, to regard
the body as 'I' and the possessions as 'mine' is to
commit the sin of stealing back what has been given away as a gift. You
should know that avoiding this fault is the authentic
worship of the Sadguru.
To destroy the form of the mind, enquire into the ego, the delusion, and
enter the Heart. This indeed is the puja to the lotus
feet of the Guru's holy form who abides in the mauna [silence] that is
beyond the mind.
Like a cataract upon the eye, the ego-view plays tricks on us, masquerading
as being-consciousness even as it moves about in the
insentient body. To prevent its formation and growth is puja to the graceful
twin lotus feet of the Guru who exists and shines
as the transcendental firmament.
Abandoning the protection of the feet of the Guru-Lord, who has extinguished
the burning fires of the triple miseries
[tapatraya], the ego suffers, seeking water in the scorching mirage of the
perceived sense objects. When this mischief of the
ego is stilled and one becomes established [at those feet], that indeed is
the puja to be performed to the twin lotus feet of
the Pure One.
Sri Ramana Maharshis teachings Commentaries on "Who am I?"
The clear focus in Ramana's teaching is on the fact that the ego has no
independent existence. He compares the ego to a ghost,
because it has no form of its own. Though it is born of forms it is always
changing its form and takes to its heels when
searched for. Due to play of shadows one might, while walking at night, feel
that a ghost is dogging his footsteps. But on
closer examination he would find out that what he took to be a ghost is only
a lamp-post or a tree.
Ramana would say that the ego's case was comparable and so long as one does
not enquire as to its nature it continues to give
trouble. A search for it would reveal that no such separate entity exists.
This 'revolutionary' approach of Ramana needs closer
examination. Can it be that the arch enemy of our spiritual progress is a
mere phantom, a mere myth? If so how can one explain
its stranglehold on us? Ramana himself has thrown light by holding the 'ego'
in clear focus.
Ramana explains that the sense of separate individuality, the ego, has its
daily birth on waking. It disappears in sleep. This
appearance and disappearance being a daily phenomenon, we ignore it.
However, this rising and subsidence which is characteristic
of the ego, its hall-mark, is a pointer to us of the need to enquire
wherefrom this ego originates. What is its source? To
prevent our getting bogged down in wrong theories, Ramana himself supplies
the answer. It rises and merges in 'consciousness'
which shines without a gap. So one cay say that ego is a wave in the sea of
consciousness, and its numerous forms are only like
the innumerable waves on the surface of the sea.
Questions answered by Ramana Maharshi
Questioner: I once before told Sri Bhagavan (Ramana Maharshi) how I had a
vision of Siva about the time of my conversion to
Hinduism. A similar experience recurred to me at Courtallam. These visions
are momentary but they are blissful. I want to know
how they might be made permanent and continuous. Without Siva there is no
life in what I see around me. I am so happy to think
of Him. Please tell me how His vision may be everlasting to me.
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
You speak of a vision of Siva. Vision is always of an object. That implies
the existence of a subject. The
value of the vision is the same as that of the seer. That is to say, the
nature of the vision is on the same plane as that of
the seer. Appearance implies disappearance also. Whatever appears must also
disappear. A vision can never be eternal. But Siva
is eternal. The vision implies the seer. The seer cannot deny the existence
of the Self. There is no moment when the Self as
consciousness does not exist, nor can the seer remain apart from
consciousness. This consciousness is the eternal being. The
seer cannot see himself. Does he deny his existence because he cannot see
himself with the eyes as in a vision? No. So
Pratyaksha (direct experience) does not mean seeing, but being. To be is to
realize. Hence, "I am that I am". "I am" is Siva.
Nothing else can be without Him. Everything has its being in Siva and
because of Siva. Therefore enquire 'Who am I?' Sink deep
within and abide as the Self. That is Siva as being. Do not expect to have
visions of him repeated. What is the difference
between the objects you see and Siva? He is both the subject and the object.
You cannot be without Siva because Siva is always
realized here and now. If you think you have not realized him it is wrong.
This is the obstacle for realizing Siva. Give up the
thought also and realization is there.
Question: Yes. But how shall I effect it as quickly as possible?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
This is the obstacle for realization. Can there be the individual without
Siva? Even now he is you. There
is no question of time. If there is a moment of non-realization, the
question of realization can arise. But as it is, you cannot
be without Him. He is already realized, ever realized and never
non-realized.
Question: I wish to get Sakshatkara (direct realisation) of Sri Krishna.
What should I do to get it?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
What is your idea of Sri Krishna and what do you mean by Sakshatkara?
Questioner: I mean Sri Krishna who lived in Brindavan and I want to see him
as the gopis (His female devotees) saw Him.
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
You see, you think he is a human being or one with a human form, the son of
so and so, whereas He Himself
has said, "I am in the Heart of all beings, I am the beginning, the middle
and the end of all forms of life". He must be within
you, as He is within all. He is Our Self or the Self of Our Self. So if you
see this entity (the Self) or have Sakshatkar
(direct realization) of it, you will have Sakshatkar of Krishna. Direct
realization of the Self and direct realization of
Krishna cannot be different. However, to go on your own way, surrender
completely to Krishna and leave it to him to grant the
Sakshatkar you want.
Question: Is it possible to speak to Iswara (God) as Sri Ramakrishna did?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
When we speak to each other why should we not speak to Iswara in the same
way?
Question: Then why does it not happen with us?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
It requires purity and strength of mind and practice in meditation.
Question: Does God become evident if the above conditions exist?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Such manifestations are as real as your own reality. In other words, when
you identify yourself with the
body, as in the waking state, you see gross objects. When in the subtle body
or in the mental plane as in dreams, you see
objects equally subtle. In the absence of identification in deep sleep you
see nothing. The objects seen bear a relation to the
state of the seer. The same applies to visions of God. By long practice the
figure of God, as meditated upon, appears in dreams
and may later appear in the waking state also.
Question: many visitors here tell me that they get visions or
thought-currents from you. I have been here for the last month and
a half and still I have not the slightest experience of any kind. Is it
because I am unworthy of your grace?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Visions and thought-currents are had according to the state of mind. It
depends on the individual and not
upon the universal presence. Moreover, they are immaterial. What matters is
peace of mind. What is realization? Is it to see God
with four hands, bearing a conch, a wheel (disc) and a club? Even if God
should appear in that form, how is the disciple's
ignorance wiped out? The truth must be eternal realization. The direct
perception is ever-present experience. God Himself is
known when He is directly perceived. It does not mean that he appears before
the devotee in some particular form. Unless the
realization is eternal it cannot serve any useful purpose. Can the
appearance of God with four hands be eternal realization? It
is phenomenal and illusory. There must be a seer. The seer alone is real and
eternal. Let God appear as the light of a million
suns. Is it Pratyaksha (direct experience)? To see a vision of God the eyes
and the mind are necessary. It is indirect
knowledge, whereas the seer is direct experience. The seer alone is
Pratyaksha.
Question: People talk of Vaikuntha, Kailasa, Indraloka, Chandraloka (the
Hindu heavens). Do they really exist?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Certainly. You can rest assured that they all exist (as chakras above the
head). There also a swami like me will be found seated on a couch and
disciples will also be seated around him. They will ask something and he
will say something in reply. Everything will be more or less like this. What
of that? If one sees Chandraloka, one will ask for Indraloka, and after
Indraloka, Vaikuntha and
after Vaikuntha, Kailasa and so on, and the mind goes on wandering. Where is
shanti (peace)? If shanti is required, the only
correct method of securing it is by self-enquiry. Through self-enquiry
Self-realization is possible. If one realizes the Self,
one can see all these worlds within one's Self. The source of everything is
one's own Self, and if one realizes the Self, one
will not find anything different from the Self. Then these questions will
not arise. There may or may not be a Vaikuntha or a
Kailasa but it is a fact that you are here, isn't it? How are you here?
Where are you? After you know about these things, you
can think of all those worlds.
Question: Are the Siddhis (super-natural powers) mentioned in Patanjali's
Sutras true or only his dream?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
He who is Brahman or the Self will not value those Siddhis. Patanjali
himself says that they are all
exercised with the mind and that they impede Self-realisation.
Question: What about the powers of so-called supermen?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Whether powers are high or low, whether of the mind or of a supermind, they
exist only with reference to
the one who has the power. Find out who that is.
Question: Are Siddhis to be achieved on the spiritual path or are they
opposed to Mukti (liberation)?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
The highest Siddhi is realization of the Self; for once you realize the
truth you cease to be drawn to the
path of ignorance.
Question: Then what use are the Siddhis?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
There are two kinds of Siddhis and one kind may well be a stumbling block to
realisation. It is said that
by Mantra, by some drug possessing occult virtues, by severe austerities or
by samadhi of a certain kind, powers can be
acquired. But these powers are not a means to Self-knowledge, for even when
you acquire them, you may quite well be in
ignorance.
Question: What is the other kind?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
They are manifestations of power and knowledge, which are quite natural to
you when you realize the Self.
They are Siddhis, which are the products of the normal and natural Tapas
(spiritual practice) of the man who has reached the
Self. They come of their own accord, they are God given. They come according
to one's destiny but whether they come or not, the
Jnani, who is settled in the supreme peace, is not disturbed by them. For he
knows the Self and that is the unshakable Siddhi.
But these Siddhis do not come by trying for them. When you are in the state
of realization, you will know what these powers are.
Question: Does the sage use occult powers for making others realize the
Self, or is the mere fact of his Self-realization enough
for it?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
The force of his Self-realization is far more powerful than the use of all
other powers. Though Siddhis are
said to be many and different, Jnana (knowledge) alone is the highest of
those many different Siddhis, because those who have
attained other Siddhis will desire Jnana. Those who have attained Jnana will
not desire other Siddhis. Therefore aspire only for
Jnana. Although the powers appear to be wonderful to those who do not
possess them, yet they are only transient. All these
wonders are contained in the one changeless Self. Greedily begging for
worthless occult powers (Siddhis) from God, who will
readily give Himself, who is everything, is like begging for worthless stale
gruel from a generous natured philanthropist who
will readily give everything. In the Heart, which catches fire with the
blazing flame of supreme devotion, all the occult powers
will gather together. However, with a heart that has become a complete prey
to the feet of the Lord, the devotee will not have
any desire for those Siddhis. Know that if aspirants who are making efforts
on the path to liberation set their heart upon
occult powers, their dense bondage will be strengthened more and more, and
hence the lustre of their ego will wax more and more.
The attainment (Siddhi) of Self, which is the perfect whole, the radiance of
liberation, alone is the attainment of true
knowledge, whereas the other kinds of Siddhi, beginning with Anima (the
ability to become as small as an atom) belong to the
delusion of the power of imagination of the foolish mind. People see many
things which are far more miraculous than the so-
called Siddhis, yet do not wonder at them simply because they occur every
day. When a man is born he is no bigger than this
electric bulb, but then he grows up and becomes a giant wrestler, or a
world-famed artist, orator, politician or sage. People do
not view this as a miracle but they are wonder struck if a corpse is made to
speak.
Question: When a man realizes the Self, what will he see?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
There is no seeing. Seeing is only being. The state of Self-realization, as
we call it, is not attaining
something new or reaching some goal which is far away, but simply being that
which you always are and which you always have
been. All that is needed is that Ou give up Our realization of the not-true
as true. All of us are regarding as real that which
is not real. We have only to give up this practice on our part. Then we
shall realize the Self as the Self; in other words, "Be
the Self". At one stage you will laugh at yourself for trying to discover
the Self which is so self-evident. So, what can we say
to this question? That stage transcends the seer and the seen. There is no
seer there to see anything. The seer who is seeing
all this now ceases to exist and the Self alone remains.
Question: What is the significance of Guru's grace in the attainment of
liberation?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Liberation is not anywhere outside you. It is only within. If a man is
anxious for deliverance, the
internal Guru pulls him in and the external Guru pushes him into the Self.
This is the grace of the Guru.
Question: How long is a Guru necessary for Self-realization?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
Guru is necessary so long as there is ignorance. Ignorance is due to the
self-imposed but wrong limitation
of the Self. God, on being worshipped, bestows steadiness in devotion, which
leads to surrender. On the devotee surrendering,
God shows his mercy by manifesting as the Guru. The Guru, otherwise God,
guides the devotee, saying that God is within and that
he is not different from the Self. This leads to introversion of the mind
and finally to realization.
Question: What is samadhi?
Sri Ramana Maharshi:
The state in which the unbroken experience of existence-consciousness is
attained by the still mind, alone
is samadhi. That still mind which is adorned with the attainment of the
limitless supreme Self, alone is the reality of God.
When the mind is in communion with the Self in darkness, it is called nidra
(sleep), that is, the immersion of the mind in
ignorance. Immersion in a conscious or wakeful state is called samadhi.
Samadhi is continuous inherence in the Self in a waking
state. Nidra or sleep is also inherence in the Self but in an unconscious
state. In sahaja samadhi the communion is continuous.
Ramana Maharshi quotes
"Know that the eradication of the identification with the body is charity,
spiritual austerity and ritual sacrifice; it is
virtue, divine union and devotion; it is heaven, wealth, peace and truth; it
is grace; it is the state of divine silence; it is
the deathless death; it is jnana, renunciation, final liberation and bliss."

"Your duty is to be and not to be this or that. 'I am that I am' sums up the
whole truth. The method is summed up in the words
'Be still'. What does stillness mean? It means destroy yourself. Because any
form or shape is the cause for trouble. Give up the
notion that 'I am so and so'. All that is required to realize the Self is to
be still. What can be easier than that?"

"Wanting to reform the world without discovering one's true self is like
trying to cover the world with leather to avoid the
pain of walking on stones and thorns. It is much simpler to wear shoes."

"All are gurus to us, the wicked by their evil deeds say 'do not come near
me'. the good are always good, therefore all are like
gurus to us."

Mind is consciousness, which has limitations. We are originally unlimited
and perfect. Later on we take on limitations and
become the mind.
Meditation depends upon the strength of mind. It must be unceasing even when
one is engaged in work. Particular time for it is
meant for novices.
When one makes the mind stick to one thought, the mind becomes rock-steady
and the energy is conserved.
The mind is only a bundle of thoughts. The thoughts have their root in the
I-thought. Whoever investigates the True "I" enjoys
the stillness of bliss.
When the mind is left without anything to cling to, it becomes still.
The inquiry "who am I" turns the mind introvert and makes it calm.
There is no mind to control if you realize the self. The mind having
vanished, the self shines forth. In the realized man, the
mind may be active or inactive, the self remains for him.
Meditation helps concentration of the mind. Then the mind is free from
thoughts and is in the meditated form.
Meditation is sticking to one thought. That single thought keeps away other
thoughts; distraction of mind is a sign of its
weakness; by constant meditation it gains strength.
When we turn the mind inwards, God manifests as the inner consciousness.
See who is the doubter, who is the thinker. It is the ego. Hold it; the
other thoughts will die away - the ego will be left
pure. See the source from where the ego arises and abide in it. That is pure
consciousness.
The "I" thought is said to be the sum total of all thoughts. The source of
the "I" thought has to be enquired into.
The mind of one meditating on a single object becomes one-pointed. And one-pointedness
of mind leads to abidance in the self.
Real attainment is to be fully conscious, to be aware of surroundings and
the people around, to move among them all, but not to
merge consciousness in the environment. One should remain in inner
independent awareness.
Once the current of awareness of the self is set afoot, it becomes
everlasting and continuous by intensification.
Realization is to get rid of the delusion that you have not realized.
Good thoughts keep off bad thoughts. They must themselves disappear before
the state of realization.
Realization is our true nature. It is nothing new to be gained. What is new
cannot be eternal. Therefore there is no need to be
doubting whether we would gain or lose the self.
A realized one sends out waves of spiritual influence in his aura, which
draw many people towards him. Yet he may sit in a cave
and maintain complete silence.
Turn the mind inward and cease thinking of yourself as the body; thereby you
will come to know that the self is ever happy.
Neither grief nor misery is experienced in this state.
Sri Ramana maintained that the purest form of his teachings was the powerful
silence - the Presence which radiated from him and quieted the minds of
those attuned to it. He gave verbal teachings only for the benefit of those
who could not understand his silence (or, perhaps, could not understand how
to attain the silent state). His verbal teachings were said to flow from his
direct experience of Atman as the only existing reality. When asked for
advice, he recommended self-enquiry as the fastest path to moksha. Though
his primary teaching is associated with Non-dualism, Advaita Vedanta, and
Jnana yoga, he recommended Bhakti to those he saw were fit for it, and gave
his approval to a variety of paths and practices

be arduous for it takes you into the landscape of your inner being. Are you

to change your ideas of who you thought you were in order to discover who you
really are? Say, “Yes”. Leave behind your safety net and discover the knowledge
that is your birthright. Many stand at this doorway, but few dare enter.
What does being a Master mean?
Most Masters absolutely reject the idea that they carry any wisdom which does
not already exist within his or her student. These Masters bring together a
unique blend of personal wisdom, an ability to masterfully communicate the
teachings through experience rather than through words and dogma, and a
ceaseless encouraging that pulls the depths of knowing from each student.
