LIMITATIONS AND BOUNDARIES
IDENTIFYING YOUR LIMITS
No person is a super-human. We all have limits to our energy and abilities. A wise person acknowledges human limitations, tests them, and sees if they can improve themselves gradually over the course of a life-time. We have to find our limits in all areas of life, otherwise we will over-do and become exhausted and ill.
SELF-IMPROVEMENT
When we know our limits, then we can gradually and steadily push them back in a sensible and reasonable way.
BOUNDARIES
Everyone has a set of holistic boundaries in their lives. When something oversteps those boundaries then we feel uncomfortable, threatened, insecure, and perhaps frightened. It's not just external forces that can infringe our boundaries, we ourselves can violate our own rules. We set up boundaries to protect ourselves from outer threats and to help ourselves be lead "not into temptation."
The learning process of life involves testing our limits and boundaries. It is perfectly normal to say "no" as well as to say "yes". That is the nature of decision making. Making the best decisions that we can given the circumstances of our lives.
AFFIRMATION
"All is well in my world. I am only human and I have the usual limits and boundaries to my life activities. This is natural, appropriate, and wise. I can only offer voluntary help to others if and when I am sure enough and strong enough to do so without being damaged by the situation. All is well in my world. By maintaining my own holistic health I am performing a vital and natural service to life. By understanding and using my holistic health system, I am in a wiser position to help others if they ask for my advice. All is well in my world." - GOOD.
